The government, together with IT industry representatives, plans to make Ukraine a leader in IT outsourcing in Europe
Together with representatives of the IT industry, the Ukrainian government launches a new ambitious project, with the main goal of making Ukraine a driving force in the IT-sphere of Europe.
Together with representatives of IT companies, the Ukrainian government developed a strategy for dynamic economic development.
“Our goal is to move from the resource economy to the knowledge economy,” said Minister of Economics Pavlo Sheremet.
The plan envisages the creation of 100,000 new jobs in the IT field by 2020. IT export revenue (mainly in the US and the EU) is expected to be more than $ 10 billion. In the expansion and modernization of Ukraine’s educational system, it is planned to invest $ 1 billion.
The purpose of the project is also to create good conditions for the work and life of IT specialists in Ukraine, thereby motivating them to stay at home. The plan envisages deregulation and revision of tax legislation to ensure Ukraine’s competitiveness in the international market.
The IT service (IT-outsourcing) will remain the main factor in positive changes in 5-6 years. There is great potential for creating their own intellectual products based on the development of Ukrainian companies. Also, a significant IT contribution can be made to government project development, such as e-government.
