New approach in creating presentations by Microsoft

Tuesday, 18 August 2015

PowerPoint has been used for many years to create presentations and visualize data. Microsoft has developed another similar program — Sway, which complements the standard Office suite. With it, users have the opportunity to create web-based interactive presentations. Microsoft emphasizes that Sway presentations look great on any device. And you can share them via the link.

The developers announced the launch of Sway in the spring, but the program became available to users on August 5. In terms of functionality, it has already been compared to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote. Experts predict that in time Sway will displace PowerPoint. This is due to the mobility of the new application and its availability for different devices. At the same time, the developers of Sway note that it was not created to compete with PowerPoint but to complement it. Sway is targeted at people who work primarily online.

Microsoft also explained that Sway developers tried to move away from traditional pages, slides, and templates. Attention is focused on the big canvas. A person expresses his ideas and shares them with colleagues, friends, and even relatives. Sway is easier to work with than PowerPoint. Several users have the opportunity to work on one presentation simultaneously.
