Facebook, Instagram and Twitter are losing their popularity
According to a study by SimilarWeb for the first quarter of 2016, users of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat began to spend less time on these social networks.
Thus, Instagram fans began to spend on average 23.7% less time on social networks compared to last year, Twitter users – by 23.4%, Snapchat – by 15.7%, and Facebook – by 8%. Also in the first three months of 2016, the number of downloads of applications for these services fell by an average of 9% compared to the same period last year.
The growing popularity of messengers is one of the reasons for the loss of user interest in these applications. For comparison, the number of downloads of Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp increased by 2% and 5% respectively.
It will be recalled that due to the new algorithm of the news feed, media companies are losing their audience on Facebook. The number of views of each individual material published on the company’s official website has fallen by 42% since the beginning of the year.
